Professor Rufus Akinyemi is professor of Geriatric Neurology and Translational Neuroscience at the University of Ibadan College of Medicine, Nigeria with interest in Ageing, Stroke, Dementia Research, Genomics, Multiomics, Neurobiology, Biobanking, Implementation Science and Neuroepidemiology. He played a pivotal role in establishing the African Dementia Consortium (AfDC) and the African Neurobiobank for Precision Stroke Medicine ELSI Project. He has been awarded the 2023 NAS Gold Medal Prize for Life Sciences by the Nigerian Academy of Science.
