Sergio Ilarri

Sergio Ilarri is Full Professor in the area of Computer Languages and Systems Engineering at the University of Zaragoza. He received his B.S. and his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Zaragoza in 2001 and 2006, respectively. He is currently the coordinator of the Computer Science Engineering degree at the School of Engineering and Architecture at the University of Zaragoza. He is also the coordinator of the COSMOS research group, funded by the Government of Aragon (current ref. T64_23R), and leads the research project NEAT-AMBIENCE -PID2020-113037RBI00-, funded by the State Research Agency of Spain (MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033). His main research area is data management. His research interests include mobile computing, vehicular networks, context-aware recommender systems, data streams, information systems, and data-driven decision-making. He has authored publications in relevant journals and conferences and has participated as guest editor of special issues of journals such as Transportation Research Part C, IEEE Internet Computing, IEEE Multimedia, the Journal of Systems and Software, Distributed and Parallel Databases, and Personal and Ubiquitous Computing. He has also developed strong international collaborations through research stays (e.g., at the Mobile Computing Laboratory at the University of Illinois in Chicago and at the University of Valenciennes in France) and other actions.
