Conference Plan and Time Allocation
Welcome to the Newcastle Economics Research and Development (NERD) Conference 2021. We are looking forward to meeting you virtually in Newcastle on June 3rd, 2021 at our Postgraduate Research Conference.
We kindly ask you to familiarize yourself with the content of the conference plan and the time allocation.
Information for Presenters
Time zone in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK (GMT+1).
Please be ready to share your screen for presentation in time. We kindly ask you to follow the strict time conditions (20 minutes presentation).
There are two Zoom links: one for the morning sessions 1-2 (breakout rooms 1-2), and one for the afternoon session 3-5 (breakout rooms 1-3). It is important that you keep in mind the breakout room number you have been assigned to. On the day of the presentation, the digital administrator will provide you with an option on the breakout rooms and you will have to click on your assigned break-out room yourself. You can move between sessions.

Awards
The Best Presentation Award: A customised trophy with the conference and winner's name engraved on it plus £200 cash.
First-Year Achiever Award: A customised trophy with the conference and winner's name engraved on it plus £100 cash.
A scientific committee consisting of the session Chair and Newcastle PGRs will individually and independently mark each presentation according to the assessment criteria outlined below. 60% weightage will be given on the Chair’s decision and 40% weightage will be given on the combined PGRs’ decision. The Award winners will be announced via email on June 7th. The Award holders will be invited to provide a short 5-minute video about their research to be displayed on our webpage.
