NEWTON-Q 2026
Newcastle Post-Quantum Security and Quantum Technology Workshop
Welcome to Newton-Q 2026 – annual workshop exploring the rapidly evolving landscape of quantum technologies and post-quantum cyber security.
Newton-Q brings together researchers, engineers, industry partners and students to engage with the ideas shaping the future of secure communication and computation. The workshop provides a space for interdisciplinary exchange, where advances in physics, mathematics, computing and engineering meet real-world challenges.
Through a combination of invited talks, discussions and networking opportunities, Newton-Q highlights both fundamental developments and practical applications across the quantum and post-quantum domains.
This year’s themes include:
- Quantum communication and quantum key distribution
- Quantum computing and algorithm design
- Post-quantum cryptography
- Network security in a quantum-enabled world
- Industry innovation and emerging technologies
Newton-Q is designed not only to showcase cutting-edge research, but also to foster collaboration between disciplines, between academia and industry and between early career researchers and established experts.
We place a strong emphasis on creating opportunities for meaningful interaction, whether through discussions, informal exchanges or pathways to collaborative projects, internships and future careers.
The workshop is free to attend and open to all. We particularly welcome students and early career researchers who are interested in exploring quantum technologies and their impact on the future of digital security.
Join us in Newcastle to be part of the conversation shaping the quantum future.
