Sam Stewart

Since graduating with his BSc Psychology and MSc Sport and Exercise Psychology degrees (from Lancaster and Loughborough Universities, respectively), Sam has been practising in a variety of applied sport psychology contexts. Sam has been the Lead Academy Psychologist at Stoke City FC for over 2 years, creating and implementing the psychology curriculum for the u9-u21 age groups - while working through the MDT to facilitate this. Alongside this, Sam has maintained his relationship with Loughborough University by working as a practitioner for the Performance Squash teams and the on-site clinic); he works with Loughborough College as a practitioner on their DiSE program with elite youth hockey players; and, through his private practice (Sam Stewart Performing Minds), he has worked with organisations and individuals across golf, endurance running, football, coaching group contexts to name a few. Working from a pragmatic ACT-based approach, Sam's work focuses on working with individuals and organisations to develop psychological flexibility and psychological safety through a connection to one's values and utilising practical techniques that work for the individual (in context) to help them create their own toolkit in moving towards the individual they wish to be.
