To our great regret, we have had to cancel this year’s Talking to the World conference at Newcastle University 17-18 September 2018. While preparing for this year’s conference, we were excited by the high quality of all the proposals for papers and the stimulating input from our colleagues world-wide. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, many colleagues could not attend the conference, and hence we would not have been able to guarantee an experience that would be worthy of your and our expectations.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that this may cause you. If you have paid the conference fee, a full refund will be made to you. We will contact you about this and any other practical matters.

Last but not least, Talking to the World remains committed to promoting international academic and professional dialogue about translating and interpreting. Committee members are already discussing plans for more exciting conferences and events in the future. We hope to welcome you to Newcastle at a Talking to the World event in the future.
